Akira Shimizu, MD., PhD

He got MD. from Kanazawa Medical University in 1985, and started the study for renal pathology in Nippon Medical School from 1987 and got PhD. in 1993.
He worked as a research fellow under Professor Robert B Colvin, in Department of Pathology, Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA, from 1995 to 1998, and Instructor and Assistant Immunologist under Professor David H. Sachs, Transplantation Biology Research Center, Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School from 2003 to 2005.
From 2013 June, he worked as Professor, Department of Analytic Human Pathology, Nippon Medical School. Now, he is president in Japanese Renal Pathology Society from 2019.
