Dr. Ichiei Narita is a professor of medicine and Head of the Division of Clinical Nephrology and Rheumatology in Kidney Research Center at the Niigata University, Niigata, Japan. He has been recognized for his contributions to research and clinical managements of kidney diseases, including primary and secondary glomerulonephritis, drug-induced kidney injury, as well as inherited kidney diseases. Recent his major research interests are in multi-omicus analysis to clarify the mechanism of initiation and progression of IgA nephropathy, cell biology of primary glomerulonephritis, clinical and genetic analysis of autoimmune diseases, management of complications in ESRD patients. He is now a board certified senior member of the Japanese Society of Internal Medicine, and a supervisor of the Japanese Society of Nephorology and had served as the Editor in chief of the official journal of JSN, Clinical and Experimental Nephrology.
