Dr. Akira Nishiyama is a Chairman and Professor of Pharmacology at Kagawa University Medical School, Kagawa, Japan and has also served as Dean of Faculty of Medicine. Dr. Nishiyama is the recipient of the Hoecht Marion Roussel Excellence in Renal Research Award from the American Physiological Society (1999), the Best Trainee Award from the American Federation for Medical Research/ Society for Clinical Investigation (2000), Bristol Squibb Recognition Awards from the American Society of Hypertension (2001), The Harry Goldblatt Award in Cardiovascular Research Award Finalist from the American Heart Association (2006), Oshima Award from Japanese Society of Nephrology (2012), Jokichi Takamine Award from the Society of Cardiovascular Endocrinology and Metabolism, Academic Award from Japan Kidney Foundation (2020), etc. Dr. Nishiyama is also an Associate editor of Clin Exp Pharmacol Physiol (2008~2022), Sci Rep (2015~), Hypertens Res (2016~), Nephrology (2018~), Pharm Res Persp (2020~), J Clin Hypertens (2020~), Clic Sci (2022~), Clin Exp Nephrol (2022~), Am J Hypertens (2023~), etc.
