Fumiki Yoshihara completed his medical training at Nagasaki University Hospital before moving to the division of Nephrology and Hypertension, National Cerebral and Cardiovascular Center (NCVC), Osaka. After 6 years of research in the Department of Biochemistry at the NCVC Research Institute, where he obtained his PhD degree, he retransferred to the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension.
He has been a head of the division since September 2016. He is a Specialist and Supervisor in general Internal Medicine of the Japanese Society of Internal Medicine, a cardiologist of the Japanese Society of Cardiology, a dialysis specialist and supervisor of the Japanese Society for Dialysis Therapy (JSDT), a nephrologist, supervisor and councilor of the Japanese Society of Nephrology (JSN), and a hypertension specialist, supervisor and councilor of the Japanese Society of Hypertension.
