Hiroshi Nishi, MD, PhD is the Associate Professor of Nephrology at the University of Tokyo, Japan, and the Vice Chair of Division of Nephrology and Endocrinology at the University of Tokyo Hospital. He received his academic degrees from the University of Tokyo and completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Harvard Medical School and Brigham Women’s Hospital, Boston, MA, before being appointed an Assistant Professor at the University of Tokyo in 2016. His research goal is the expansion of our understanding of the molecular pathways controlling immune and vascular cell-mediated kidney injury. He also has devoted himself to clinical studies to analyze the equity of social and medical resources designated for patients with kidney diseases. He serves on the Editorial Board of Kidney International Reports since 2019 and awarded Kidney International Best Reviewers of the Year 2023.
