He received his medical training in Osaka University Hospital and Osaka Rosai Hospital. After obtaining a PhD at Osaka University, he has performed basic and clinical research on IgA nephropathy. He has several research interests, one of which is focal infection not only in IgA nephropathy, but also in nephrotic syndrome such as minimal change disease or membranous nephropathy.
