After graduating from Mie University School of Medicine in 1997, he trained as a medical doctor in Mie Prefecture mostly and is currently a specialist in the Japanese Society of Internal Medicine, the Japanese Society of Nephrology, and the Japanese Society for Dialysis Therapy. His specialty is hereditary nephritis, and he is involved in basic research using animal models as well as clinical practice.
