Kenichiro Kinouchi is a clinical endocrinologist, nephrologist, and researcher for circadian biology. Kinouchi graduated with a doctorate in medicine from Keio University School of Medicine, Japan, in 2011. Kinouchi completed a post-doctoral training under the supervision of Paolo Sassone-Corsi at Center for Epigenetics and Metabolism, Department of Biological Chemistry, School of Medicine, University of California, Irvine, United States. His research primarily focuses on a holistic understanding of the homeostatic mechanisms by which the temporal profiles of hormones, humoral and neural factors are subject to the eating behaviors, sleep patterns, clock functions, and environmental cues, and impinge on metabolic coordination across distal organs. Kinouchi aims to define the distinct genomic and metabolic signatures of circadian adaptation to the perturbations in the pre-symptomatic disease states by employing a systems biology approach.
