Kohei Uchimura is Associate Professor, Department of Nephrology at Yamanashi University. He completed M.D. and Ph.D. at Kumamoto University, School of medicine and studied clinical practice at Kumamoto University Hospital. Then, he studied abroad to Washington University in St. Louis Renal Division (Benjamin Humphreys Lab) as a postdoc researcher.
His research focuses on iPS cell derived kidney organoid differentiation and scRNA sequencing. He received Oshima Award from Japanese Society of Nephrology (JSN) and Outstanding Paper Award from United Japanese researchers Around the world (UJA) in 2022 for his research achievements.
