Muta, Kumiko

Kumiko Muta is an Associate Professor in the Department of Nephrology at Nagasaki University Hospital. She joined there in 2010. In 2019, she undertook domestic study at the University of Occupational and Environmental Health, Japan, to learn renal pathology diagnosis.
She plays a central role in renal pathology diagnosis, while also serving as a clinician and mentoring young physicians. Her basic research aims to elucidate the mechanisms of peritoneal fibrosis, chronic kidney disease, and acute kidney injury. In recent years, she has also served as Deputy Director of the Department of Postgraduate Clinical Training at the Medical Education Development Center, managing the training for junior residents.
