Vianda Stel is Associate Professor and the Managing Director of the European Renal Association (ERA) Registry in Amsterdam in the Netherlands. The ERA Registry collects data on dialysis and kidney transplant patients through national and regional renal registries in Europe. Dr. Stel is senior epidemiologist specialized in kidney disease. Her scientific interests are the prevention, incidence, treatment, progression and outcomes of chronic kidney disease and end-stage kidney disease with a focus on international comparisons. She published over 120 scientific papers including educational papers on epidemiology for scientific journals. In addition, she teaches epidemiology in courses to students and nephrologists also in an international context. She also contributes to the training of many research fellows from different countries by providing them training in epidemiology, data analyses and writing a scientific article on the job.
