Dr. Tamura graduated from Teikyo University School of Medicine in 1999, then joined the Nephrology group of the university. He obtained Ph.D. degree under a guide of Prof. Uchida. He started to study uric acid research and oxidative stress in collaboration with Prof. Nakagawa in Richard Johnson’s laboratory in Colorado, USA between 2010 And 2012. After return to Teikyo University, he deepened the mechanism by which soluble uric acid can accelerate kidney damage using animal models.
Dr. Tamura is Associate Professor of Department of Internal Medicine, Teikyo University School of Medicine. His clinical practice covers all the areas of nephrology, in particular, glomerulonephritis, nephrotic syndrome, hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, CKD kidney, acute kidney injury, hypertension and hyperuricemia. His research interests include CKD and hyperuricemia.
