Mustafa ARICI, MD., is Professor of Medicine (Nephrology) at Hacettepe University in Ankara-TURKEY and Treasurer to ERA (European Renal Association).
He is a member of the Science Academy of TURKEY, Board Member to Turkish Society of Nephrology. He served as an Executive Committee Member of KDIGO (Kidney Disease:Improving Global Outcomes).
His main research interests are concentrated on chronic kidney disease and hypertension with a special focus on mechanisms involved in progression of kidney disease, albuminuria and fibrosis, cardiovascular risks and complications in CKD and dialysis, epidemiology of hypertension and cardiorenal risks of sodium consumption and fluid & electrolyte disorders.
He serves as “theme editor” for “Nephrology Dialysis and Transplantation”, and associate editor of “BANTAO Journal”. He is an editorial board member of “Kidney and Blood Pressure Research”, “European Journal of Internal Medicine”, “Internal and Emergency Medicine” and “Blood Pressure”.
He is the editor or co-editor of two textbooks, namely “Management of Chronic Kidney Disease: A Clinician’s Guide. 2nd edition” (Springer Nature, 2023) and “Oxford Desk Reference in Nephrology” (2nd edition, 2021).
He is married and father of two lovely daughters.
