Tetsuo Shoji is affiliated with the Department of Vascular Medicine, Osaka Metropolitan University (previous Osaka City University) Graduate School of Medicine, Osaka, Japan. He studied medicine in the medical school of Osaka City University, and then worked at the Second Department of Internal Medicine, Osaka City University Hospital. He is interested in dyslipidemia and other metabolic/endocrine alterations as factors affecting cardiovascular disease (CVD) in patients with CKD. He is a member of the Japan Atherosclerosis Society (JAS), the Japanese Society for Dialysis Therapy (JSDT), the Japanese Society of Nephrology (JSN), the Japan Diabetes Society (JDS), and others. He is the recipient of the Society Award from JSDT. He served as a clinical practice guideline (GL) work group member of the JSDT CVD-GL 2011, the JSDT CKD-MBD GL 2012 and 2024, KDIGO-GL of Lipid Management 2012, and the JAS-GL 2012, 2017, and 2022.
