Dr. Yoshitaka Isaka M.D. is a graduate of Osaka University Graduate School of Medicine, Osaka, Japan (1988) and trained at Osaka University Hospital and Osaka National Hospital (1988-1989). He completed the Graduate School of Medicine, Osaka University in 1994. In the same year, he became a Research Fellow in the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension at the University of Utah School of Medicine. He received the Oshima Award from the Japanese Society of Nephrology in 1998. He was appointed as an Associate Professor of Geriatrics and Nephrology at the Graduate School of Medicine, Osaka University in 2009, and became a Professor of Nephrology in 2015. In 2023, he was appointed as the Principal Investigator of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare's Policy Research Project on Intractable Renal Disorders. He is currently serving as a Special Advisor to the Japanese Society of Nephrology, an Executive Board Member of the Japanese Society for Dialysis Therapy, and a Councilor of the Japanese Society of Internal Medicine.
